The Love of Irises
My husband and I live just outside of Kennewick, WA where the weather is "300 days of sunshine a year", four seasons (usually), little rain and hot summers (2 weeks are usually in the 100's). We are at the river level so nice sandy soil for irises. The irises love it here.
We are a licensed nursery in the state of WA which does include annual inspections so we may ship anywhere in the lower 48 states. To ship out of those area, I need to work with the inspector so he can help me determine what the other locations require.
This business was originally started as I had a lot of extra irises and my daughter-in-law had a baby so we thought it would make a way for her to earn money as a stay at home mom. Life changes and now it is me with the help of my husband who is also busy with the pet boarding facility and sheep.
We now have over 2,000 cultivators and hope to have close to 1,000 different varieties to offer in the near future. In the meantime, we are working on gathering more modern and new introductions. We planted over 75 rhizomes that were new introductions in 2025.
I love beautiful colors and unique irises. Living in the Northwest, I had always heard Schreiners and later learned about Mid America Garden were the places to buy irises. Then it was on Facebook groups. In 2025, I attended the American Iris Society in Montana and gained a whole new perspective. We are missing out on a lot of gorgeous irises! There is a world out there of a incredible hybridizers and irises that we don't normally see so I'm working on adding iris from them for a greater variety.
Please feel free to contact me.
